Birdy got her Feathers
Doing some research i read that a native has to earn their feathers, they can not randomly pick like for example an eagle and add the feathers to a headdress and wear it. they have to earn the right to wear it and exactly that is what makes it a pride to have one. but like everything we do there is a reason behind it. this information i found is very interesting. It is not a custom that a woman wears these headdresses in their community but right now i am comparing this with the hard work it require to earn something, the feeling of pride it gives when you finally achieve it. with everything you have to work hard to get it or else it would be difficult to value the result. one quote i always believed in is:
Easy Come Easy Go Quotes
Headdresses, feathers, and warbonnets have deep spiritual significance.
The wearing of feathers and warbonnets in Native communities is not a fashion choice. Eagle feathers are presented as symbols of honor and respect and have to be earned. Some communities give them to children when they become adults through special ceremonies, others present the feathers as a way of commemorating an act or event of deep significance. more info
